Brothers Cidouane Joseph, OFM, Robert Lentz, OFM, Erick Lopez, OFM, and Paul O'Keeffe, OFM, profess solemn vows of poverty, chastity and obedience during an 11:00 a.m. ceremony at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 135 West 31st Street, in Manhattan.

Are you a man between 21 and 40 years of age interested in Franciscan life? If so, we invite you to visit our community at St. Anthony Shrine in Boston to see how we live and where we minister, pray and celebrate the Eucharist with us, and discern where God is calling you. You’ll meet other men exploring a vocation and have free time to enjoy the sights and sounds of Boston.

Come and See Weekend in New York City

Thinking about becoming a friar? Want to learn more about our way of life? Join our community at St. Francis of Assisi Friary in Manhattan for a weekend of hospitality, fraternity and discernment. Share meals and conversation, pray and celebrate the Eucharist with us, and visit some of our ministry sites. Come and see if Franciscan life is for you! The weekend also includes free time to relax and take in the sights and sounds of the Big Apple.

Franciscan Experience Weekend (FEW)

FEWs offer an opportunity for men interested in Franciscan life to discuss their calling in depth with our vocation director and other members of the vocation team. These conversations help clarify the interest level of both the candidates and the friars. During the weekend, which is held at Holy Name College in Silver Spring, Md., guests also meet our friars in post-novitiate and learn about our initial formation program. Guests are generally invited to attend the weekend by the vocation director.
